Date Night at Miller Auditorium and the KSO

We took the trip, the very short tip, to Miller Auditorium Friday evening. We heard the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra perform Beethoven Symphony No. 4, as well as a piece by Fanny Mendelssohn. The highlight had to be the Dvorak Violin Concerto performed by fourteen year old soloist Mio Imai. She was very good. We are not music critics but we found her playing quite perfect.

During this past summer, and after more than fifty years, Miller Auditorium made a welcome change and created a center aisle. Always in the past you needed to excuse yourself repeatedly to make way to most seats. If you were sitting near the side aisle you could count on several minutes of contorting your legs out of the way, or many up and downs.

We had a lovely evening.
