Several years ago we created a “picture a day” website. While the idea was cliched already by that time, it was quite fun to do and created some discipline to see the world around us through a different lens.
This site will not have that arbitrary daily deadline, but we plan to share our pictures and occasional thoughts on a wide range of subjects. We enjoy frequent road trips, or “a pleasant drive”.
Not surprisingly, we like to eat. Our trips frequently start with, “Lets find a local restaurant near —-“. We will try to limit the Instagram style pictures of lunch, but sometimes you just have to.
Our partner for these trips is our Chrysler minivan, Clifford the Big Red Van.
The “f8” in the URL is a derivative of the long held “sunny f16 rule”. In simplistic words, the ‘rule’ states; in sunny weather use f16 and shutter speed of 1/ISO of your film. As most of our travel is in Michigan, the same ‘rule’ calls for f8 with light from overcast skies. Granted it is a reach, I still am going with it.
